Shopware 5 is end-of-life. Your data, customers and rankings don’t have to be
Shopware 6 is a new system, not an update — plugins, theme and data model all change. We plan the move, migrate the data and rebuild what needs rebuilding.
Why you should not wait any longer
Shopware 5 no longer receives regular updates, and the PHP versions it runs on are out of support. Every month on Shopware 5 adds security risk and makes it harder to find extensions, hosting and developers.
Because Shopware 6 is built on a different architecture, a 5 → 6 move is really a replatforming. Done well, it is also the moment to drop old workarounds and clean up your data.

How the migration runs
Audit & inventory
We catalogue your data, extensions, integrations and every URL that ranks or earns traffic.
Mapping
Field-by-field data mapping and a complete old-URL → new-URL redirect map.
Build
The new store is built and themed on staging, with integrations reconnected.
Rehearsal migrations
We run the data migration repeatedly against staging and check the results with you.
Cut-over
Final delta migration, DNS switch and redirects live — planned for your quietest hours.
Aftercare
We watch 404s, Search Console and orders closely in the weeks after launch.
The hard parts of a 5 → 6 migration
Custom price logic
Custom price calculation from Shopware 5 plugins must be rebuilt on Shopware 6’s rule and pricing system — carefully, and tested against real orders.
Plugins with no successor
Many Shopware 5 plugins were never ported. We find an alternative or rebuild the functionality.
Data quality
Years of data bring duplicates and orphaned records. The migration cleans them up rather than copying the mess.
Migration assistant limits
Shopware’s migration assistant covers standard data well. Custom fields and plugin data need custom migration code.
Frequently asked questions
Can’t we just use the Shopware migration assistant?
It is a good starting point for standard data and we use it where it fits. Custom fields, plugin data and price logic almost always need extra migration code on top.
How long does a Shopware 5 to 6 migration take?
Commonly 10–20 weeks, driven mostly by the number of custom plugins and integrations. The audit gives you a concrete estimate.
Do customers need new passwords?
No. Shopware 6 can validate Shopware 5 password hashes, so customers log in as before.
Can we go directly to headless?
Yes, and some brands do. It adds scope, so we will discuss whether it is worth doing in the same step.
